Bundeswehr Education and Training Convention 2023
Call for Papers 2023
„A watershed era“ – How to overcome the challenges?
„We are living through a watershed era.
And that means that the world afterwards will no longer be the same as the world before.”
Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, February 27th, 2022
Using the term “watershed era” after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz clearly expressed a profound concern, that is similarly relevant an applicable to the multiple global crises of our time, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or climate change, putting the people, as well as institutions, states and alliances under imense pressure, socially as well as technologically.
These concurrent crises affect nearly all private and public sectors of life and force quick and thorough change, which seems to be irreversible. This change requires a significant amount of resiliency on both, a personal and institutional level and therefore can reasonably be emphasized as a “watershed era” for education and training as well.
Thus the Bundeswehr Education and Training Convention 2023 of the Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg on the 12th to 14th of September 2023 opens up the question:
„A watershed era“ – How to overcome the challenges?
