In order to remain competitive in international transformation processes, the development of digital key competences for work and society must become a cross-cutting task of the entire education system. The aim is to sustainably stimulate digital innovation, which DigiTaKS* addresses at university level – even beyond technology-oriented degree programmes. DigiTaKS* addresses students as future specialists and leaders or “digital change agents” and enables them to assume multiplier roles in the application and expansion of digital technologies.
For the implementation of higher (reflexive-transformative) digital competence levels in higher education, the following products and outcomes will be developed within the framework of the project
- A basic digital package consisting of a hardware and software suite,
- tools for digital literacy diagnosis (self-testing) and development (training),
- and accessible Open Educational Resources (OER).
In the course of the research cooperation with two other universities (University of Duisburg-Essen and Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg) and civil society organisations, educational, social and media science research strands on digitalisation are interdisciplinarily networked. Through its multi-method research design, the project will provide empirically based information on the current state of digital literacy of the current generation of students as well as on the practical implementation challenges and barriers of digitalisation in higher education.
In this way, DigiTaKS* combines technical equipment with individual diagnosis and qualification on the basis of accompanying longitudinal, multi-method impact research. The OER products developed in the project will subsequently be made available to other higher education institutions, but also to other educational segments of initial and continuing education in the sense of a broad digititalisation offensive and dual use.
Further collaboration within the DigiTaKS* project:
- There is a cooperation with the research project hpc.bw – Competence Platform for Software Efficiency and Supercomputing. The aim of this cross-project cooperation is the implementation of an individualised and automated feedback of results to the students on the basis of longitudinal data from the research and development project DigiTaKS*.
- Within the working group Digital Room at Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, an interdisciplinary exchange takes place in which experiences and impulses from the DigiTaKS* project are introduced iteratively.
