Lebenslauf

Dr. Jens T. Theilen ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Professur für Öffentliches Recht, insbesondere Völkerrecht und Europarecht (Prof. Dr. Sigrid Boysen). Er studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Bucerius Law School in Hamburg und der University of Oxford. Von 2014 bis 2018 war er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Walther-Schücking-Institut für Internationales Recht an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, zunächst primär tätig als Schriftleiter der „Friedens-Warte“ und dann als Koordinator des EU-geförderten Projekts „HUman Rights – MUtually Raising excellence“ (HURMUR) in Kooperation mit der Universität Tallinn und dem Dänischen Institut für Menschenrechte. Er promovierte an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel zum sogenannten Konsensus-Argument des Europäischen Gerichtshofs für Menschenrechte aus menschenrechtstheoretischer Perspektive. 2017 verbrachte er in diesem Zusammenhang einen Forschungsaufenthalt an der Queen Mary, University of London. Von 2019 bis 2021 war er Referendar am Hanseatischen Oberlandesgericht, mit Stationen u.a. beim Bundesverfassungsgericht und bei der Antidiskriminierungsstelle des Bundes.
