Katharina Goldberg studied law at the University of Hamburg. From 2012 until 2016, she was a research associate under Prof. Dr. Arndt Schmehl (Professorship for Public Law, Finance Law and Taxation Law) at the University of Hamburg. Since 2017, she has been a reasearch associate under Prof. Dr. Schuler-Harms (Professorship for Public Law, especially Public Commerce Law and Environmental Law) at the Helmut-Schmidt-University/University of the Federal Armed Forces. She did a doctorate on subjects of legal theory and taxation law under Prof. Dr. Roland Broemel at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt from 2013 until 2020. This doctorate was supported by a doctoral scholarship by the German National Merit Foundation. She completed her legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg from 2018 to 2020, including stays in Hamburg, Berlin and Hanoi. Her research interests are law of pilotless aircrafts, legal theory, international taxation law, topics of innovation, digitalization and platforms and the intersections of these topics with oversight and social law as well as the public law of Estonia.
