This project focuses on public support for direct democracy in Germany. More specifically, we try to find out in what way specific groups of citizens prefer particular forms of direct democratic participation. Our main argument is that citizen preferences for agenda initiatives and referendums may be explained by distinct political orientations and socio-demographic characteristics. To explore this, we use a panel data set that was originally created within the framework of the 2017 „Bundeswahlkompass“.
