On the following pages you can find out more about the research, teaching and other activities of our team. Our research interests focus on the functioning, performance and reform capacity of democratic institutions. This includes, in particular, elections and electoral systems, direct democracy, party systems and party governments as well as state and administrative structures, which we examine in historical and international comparison. The regional focus is on the member states of the European Union. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, 11:30 a.m., C2/S2 – R- 113-115 (Containerdorf), Anastasia Pyschny (IParl, Berlin) will give a guest lecture in which she will present the research of the Institute for for Parliamentary Research on the nomination of candidates for the German Bundestag.
