Full-time Researcher / Doctoral Candidate
- BIW 1322: Cold gas spraying as an additive manufacturing technique for steel construction
- Experimental and numerical investigation of a new metal 3D printing method for applications in steel construction
- BIW 1522: Galvanising of steel hydraulic structures / Adaptive energy dissipation systems for steel hydraulic structures
- Investigation of the use of galvanising for steel hydraulic structures in regards to corrosion protection, mechanical performance and ecotoxicity.
- Investigation of active and adaptive systems for reducing wave loading on steel hydraulic structures considering the mechanical behaviour of the structure and the required control algorithms.
- BIW 1622: Greybox models for the condition assessment of bridge structures
- Investigation of grey-box models for condition assessment in structural health monitoring. Grey-box models combine machine learning (black-box models) with existing engineering knowledge (white-box models).
Student Research Assistants
Student research assistants are always welcome in the department. Currently we have positions available on the following projects:
- MISDRO Project: Condition assessment of steel infrastructure using multiple drone-based inspection systems
- SHM Project: The digitisation of structures for Structural Health Monitoring
If you are interested in a position working on either of these projects please contact Univ.-Prof. Dr.–Ing. Max Gündel
