Scientific/professional career
- After vocational training as a “Wasserbauwerker” (Emden), studied industrial engineering (Munich), business administration (Mannheim) and economics (Wuppertal); graduated as Dipl.-Ök. (1994)
- 1994 – 1995 Research assistant at the Bergische Universität GH Wuppertal at the Chair of Business Administration, esp. Planning and Organisation with Prof. Dr. Günther Ortmann
- 1995 – 1996 Research assistant in the research project “Airport operating companies as network organisations?” at the Bergische Universität GH Wuppertal and the Freie Universität Berlin under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jörg Sydow
- 1996 – 2009 Research associate and assistant at the Free University of Berlin at the Institute of General Business Administration (later Institute of Management) under Prof. Dr. Jörg Sydow
- 2001 Doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Department of Economics of the Free University of Berlin on the topic of “Innovation in Networks”.
- 2009 Habilitation at the Department of Economics at the Free University of Berlin on the topic of “Corporate Venture Capital as Path Management”.
