Research

Overview

Our research covers topics from German and European history as well as transatlantic and global history since the 18th century. We engage with topics and themes from the Age of Revolutions and the rise of nationalism to the genesis of the modern state system, imperialism, nationalism, and internationalism, including the two world wars, the Cold War, and their enduring legacies. Our methodological approaches draw from a wide and interdisciplinary range with a focus on political, legal, intellectual, and cultural history.
