Dr.-Ing. Jan Grashorn
Jan’s research focuses on simulation and identification of dynamic systems, sensor- and model-based SHM, as well as stochastic simulation and model updating. The focus is on efficient and robust methods to represent uncertainties in the data or models as accurately as possible. However, the research also includes methods from the field of model reduction and machine learning. He is involved in the projects “Structural Health Monitoring” and “Targeted Alerting”, where he is working on model updating and model reduction. Jan studied computational methods in engineering at Leibniz Universität Hannover, where he subsequently completed his doctorate on efficient methods for Bayesian model updating at the Institute for Risk and Reliability.
