Many real-world applications—such as robotics, manufacturing, smart infrastructure, advanced automotive systems, and critical resource management—feature non-linear dynamics, high-dimensional state and action spaces, and limited observability. These characteristics challenge existing planning approaches, necessitating the development of more advanced, integrated algorithms.
This workshop aims at bringing together researchers from diverse research directions in the AI planning community for addressing the challenges of complex real-world problems and bridging the gap between algorithmic research and real-world applications.
Important Dates:
- Paper submission: 15.07.2025, 23:59 AoE
- Notification of acceptance: 08.08.2025, 23:59 AoE
- Camera-Ready version: 06.10.2025, 23:59 AoE
- Workshop: 25.10.2025 or 26.10.2025 in Bologna
Topics of the workshop include but are not limited to:
- Novel real-world applications for planning
- Novel AI planning algorithms for complex real-world problems
- Combinations of sub-symbolic and symbolic planning
- Using of Large Language Models (LLMs) in planning
- Reinforcement / imitation / policy learning for decision-making in complex real-world applications
- Automated generation of planning domain descriptions
- Multi-objective decision-making
Submissions and Review Process:
We invite researchers to submit original contributions in the form of full papers (10 to 15 pages) or work-in-progress papers (6 to 9 pages). All submitted papers will be evaluated by at least two members of the program committee, based on originality, significance, relevance and technical quality.
Papers should be formatted according to the CEUR-WS’s single-column style (http://ceur-ws.org/HOWTOSUBMIT.html). Papers previously submitted to other journals / conferences are welcome to foster the exchange of ideas. Submissions should be single blinded, i.e., authors names should be included in the submissions. Submissions must be made through the EasyChair conference system (https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=caipi25) before the indicated deadline (all deadlines refer to AoE).
At least one of the authors should register and take part at the workshop to hold the presentation. Already published papers must be directly submitted to caipi25[at]hsu-hh.de with email subject “CAIPI25 already published paper submission”.
Proceedings:
CAIPI25 proceedings will be published in CEUR Workshop Proceedings series. An opportunity to publish in this series is given to both short and long papers, provided that the work has not been published before, but inclusion in the proceedings is not mandatory. Original accepted papers will be submitted for indexation by: DBLP, Thomson Reuters, EI, SCOPUS, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar.
