AI-Planning for real-world Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is challenging. Planning algorithms must deal with high CPS complexities and large data quantities, all while maintaining their performance. Often, this overstrains conventional planning algorithms from individual research directions, such as symbolic or sub-symbolic planning.
Recent approaches in AI-Planning include Neuro-Symbolic architectures, Large Language Models (LLMs), Deep Reinforcement Learning, or extend symbolic planning paradigms. The performance of such novel methods makes them especially well suited for the complexity of real-world CPS.
This workshop aims at soliciting discussion and collaboration between researchers on novel methods in AI-planning with a focus on applications in CPS.

- Combinations of Machine Learning, sub-symbolic and symbolic planning
- Usage of LLMs for planning
- Reinforcement / imitation / policy learning for decision-making in CPS
- Automated generation of planning domain descriptions
- Multi-objective decision-making
- Reconfiguration of CPS as planning tasks
- Knowledge representations, semantic methods and ontologies
- Online planning after faults and disturbances
Workshop format
This one-day workshop will include presentations, a poster session, an invited keynote talk and a planning competition.
Attendance
We aim to facilitate discussions between researchers at all levels, including those who are just starting their careers and those who have extensive experience in the field. For this goal we allow the following participants:
- Accepted workshop paper
- Accepted poster
- Conference guests
- Participants of planning competition
Submissions
We accept the following submission types:
- short paper (4 pages not including references / appendix)
- full paper (8 pages not including references / appendix)
Papers should be submitted in the AAAI format. Papers previously submitted to other journals or conferences are welcome. If a paper has already been rejected from a different conference a significant effort to address the criticisms should be made before submission. The review process will be single blind.
