Refugees’ inclusion-exclusion at work

Given the worldwide upsurge of refugees who were forced to leave their homes due to war or persecution, their integration into the host country is a pressing economic and social challenge for recipient nations. However, refugees hold a disadvantaged labour market position that keeps them out of jobs altogether or in occupations with a lower status than their actual profession. This disadvantage is particularly burdensome for individuals who experience multiple forms of discrimination, e.g. women refugees. Aim of this project is to enhance our understanding of refugees’ diversity and inclusion at work within and across different countries.
