Katja Chmilewski, MA (she/her) is a research associate at the Chair of Human Resource Management at Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg since January 2025. She previously worked at the University of Vienna, Institute of Political Science (2015-2019) and at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Institute of Social Sciences (2022-2024) as a research assistant and lecturer. She studied political science at the Phillipps University of Marburg and at the University of Vienna. In her dissertation, she deals with employment relations of nursing staff in German hospitals. Based on affects that arise in the work process, she poses the question of the emergence of agency from an affect-theoretical perspective. Her research was funded by the Marietta Blau Scholarship of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW). Further research interests include political representation and gender.
