Prof. Dr. Barbara Sieben is head of the chair of Human Resource Management at the department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. With studies of Business Economics, Spanish and Pedagogy at Freie Universität Berlin, she qualified for the teaching profession. She received her doctorate at the School of Business and Economics, where she worked as research assistant and lecturer at the Chair of Human Resouce Management and as assistant professor (Juniorprofessorin) of Human Resource Management focused on Diversity. She did further teaching at University of Innsbruck and, as a TEA(ching Equality) Guest Professor, at University of Tübingen. Her main research interests include context-specific analyses of equality, diversity and inclusion in organizations, personnel practices in their relation to gender, diversity and intersectionality as well as critical analyses of research and practice discourses such as on emotions and management. Theoretically and empirically, she has a multiparadigmatic research approach informed by critical management studies. Her work has been published in leading international journals such as British Journal of Management, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Group & Organization Management, Human Relations, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Organization Studies and Scandinavian Journal of Management. She is member of the editorial advisory board of Emotions and Society and co-editor of Zeitschrift für Diversitätsforschung und -management.
