The main purposes of driving simulators are the investigations of the interactions between drivers and vehicles. For this, two simulators are available: a mainly visual, quasi-static simulator and an 8-degree of freedom dynamic simulator. Furthermore, a simulator for special investigations concerning comfort is part of research.

Dynamic Driving Simulator
In this simulator the interaction between driver, vehicle, and, if part of the vehcile, of ADAS (advanced driver-assistence system) can be investigated.

Quasi-static Driving Simulator
This simulators is equipped with a large visualization system and a small 6 degree of freedom mtion system (for mainly small roll, pitch, and yaw motion).

Comfort Simulator
This comfort simulator is used for the effect of oscillations, mainly caused by single obstacles, to the driver.
