Research profile
Silke Bumann is a postdoc at the Chair of Political Economy and Empirical Economics. She is a research fellow and coordinator of the project „Implications of Climate Change and Climate-induced Disasters for Individuals, Firms and the Insurance Sector (Climate_Affect)“. The project focuses on the attitudes of individuals and firms regarding climate change. A second major theme of the project is the role of insurances to mitigate climate risks.
For her research Silke employs survey data, e.g. Gallup World Poll, and combines it with geographic data, to investigate how socio-demographic variables and extreme wheather events influence the climate change beliefs of individuals.
