Maximilian Heimstädt studied business administration in Cologne and business informatics in St. Andrews (Scotland). He received his doctorate from the School of Business and Economics at Free University of Berlin in 2017. He subsequently held positions at Witten/Herdecke University (postdoc), Bielefeld University (senior researcher) and Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin (research group leader). In 2023, he completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society at Witten/Herdecke University. In 2024, he was appointed Professor of Business Administration, in particular Digital Governance and Service Design, at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. Since April 1, 2024, he heads the interdisciplinary Master’s program “Digital Governance and Administration”.
