Maximilian Passing successfully passed his doctoral examination on 19 November 2024. After submitting his thesis on ‘Development of a thermal and hydraulic coupled hydrogen storage system based on metal hydrides for automotive application’, he successfully defended it on 19 November in the presence of colleagues, family and friends. He first presented his work in a lecture open to the university public and then defended it to the examination board (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Meywerk (Chair), Prof. Dr.-lng. Julian Jepsen, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-lng. habil. Thomas Klassen and Prof. Dr. Michael Heere of TU Braunschweig) in an oral examination. As part of the examination, he had to answer questions relating directly to his work and material science and hydrogen technology in general. As an external doctoral student at HSU, Maximilian Passing completed his doctorate at the Helmholtz Center Hereon as part of the H2HybridTank project together with Volkswagen AG and Panco GmbH. He will remain at the Helmholtz Center Hereon as a postdoc. Here, building on his dissertation, he will focus primarily on the research field of mobile hydrogen storage systems.
