Application

ERASMUS+ allows for students to participate in a study or internship exchange at HSU/UniBw H. For a Study mobility you can stay between 1 and 3 Trimesters while you are more flexible for the planning of an Internship mobility.

Please notice that your university will have to send us your official nomination for a mobility. So please make sure to check in on your local application deadlines and requirements!

In addition, please provide us with the following documents (in either German or English):

1. Proof of Enrollment at your Home University
2. Copy of current Transcript of Records
3. Biometric photo
4. Copy of your Passport or EU-ID card
5. Proof of Health Insurance for the duration of stay (either by your home institution or private, refer to the german Visa requirements)
6. HSU/ UniBw Enrollment application
7. Application for Housing

Our nomination deadlines are as follows:

Fall trimester: 31.05.

Winter trimester: 01.11.

Spring trimester: 15.01.

After successful nomination you will recieve our application documents and further information.

We do not have set nomination deadlines for Internship mobilities. However, we ask that students be nominated at least 8 weeks before the proposed starting date of the mobility. An internship mobility is only possible if a proffessor is open to integrate you into the research team with your project. Please contact the international office and we will be happy to help you find a professor to be placed with!

If you study at one of our other Partner institutions, you are of course also welcome to come to HSU/UniBw H for an exchange mobility.

We have always strived to provide incoming students an opportunity to get engaged with our current research and to intensify international bonds across the globe.
We regret to inform you that due to our limited resources, we are unable to accept requests as a freemover at the current time.
We are only able to arrange exchanges for students from universities that we have a direct partnership with. We are one of two universities that provide academic training for the German Armed Force, thus we can only consider requests from verified partner institutions.

You would like to join one of our departments to get your PhD? Please contact our professors directly to aks for a possible cooperation in the field of your interest. Usually, our professors are very happy to sponsor PhD students!

Please be advised though, that our university does not offer a PhD study program and unless you acquire a working contract with one of our professors, you will only recieve a guest status at HSU. We do not usually classify PhD students as students, which is often needed for stipends or visas. If you need help with figuring things out, we are happy to help you!

You teach or work at one of our partner institutions? You would like to participate in a staff exchange and get a glimpse into the inner workings of HSU? You are very welcome to come and join us for a Staff mobility!

We will happily help you to find a placement in a department that matches your expertise and to make arrangements for a visit.

Staff mobilities are possible all year and do not require application deadlines. We simply ask to contact us at least 8 weeks before you proposed arrival date, so we can make sure to make your stay possible. Please be advised that our lecture free period from the end of June to the end of September might not be the best time period for a visit, as many of our staff will be on vacation.
